Southbrook Golf Club Review

This weeks review is of Southbrook golf club located in Binbrook Ontario Canada.  This club is one of many Hamilton Golf Courses that meets my minimum criteria for being a good course.  One that its not a municipal or executive and the other they serve cold beer!  Moving right along this course is a very nicely kept 18 hole track with driving range, restaurant and full service facility, meaning they do do brunch and weddings and such.  Excuse my writing skills and just try to get the gist.  This was a fun round of golf, the course offers generous landing area’s that do penalize the crooked golfer but reward a longer player.  The greens roll true and have always putted good each time we’ve been there.  Very consistent and the golfers that we spoke to in the clubhouse were bragging about them also.  So a good sign from the locals to this course.  The rates at this course go from $35 in the early spring to $50 in the higher season their summer period.  But they do offer some specials through their website from time to time.  We have received a few emails from the course welcoming us and offering some twilight specials that was nice of them.  Shows that management is caring about the golfers and trying to get them out during slow times.  We like the food at this course also.  Better than average for golf course bars.  The servers were all cute and very friendly another sign that management cares about the staffing and the customer.  All in all we would rate this course a 7-10, a very good value and a great track!

Fitness Friday: Be A Multi-Plane Athlete

Walk into any commercial gym in your neighborhood and spend a few minutes watching people exercise. Forget about the people on cardio machines, and pay no attention to sloppy form or unusual grunting sounds. What I want you to observe is how people are exercising. See any common threads?

You might not notice it at first, but almost all gym goers do exercises that move the body up and down or backward and forward. While no one would ever the question the validity of doing lunges are push-ups this way, if you aren’t moving your body in other planes of motion, then you are really missing key components of total-body fitness. This is especially true if you are training for golf. [Continue reading]
